California High Speed Rail – Merced to Fresno PP1 Segment

Live Oak Associates provided expert permitting consulting experience to the Regional Consultant Team (CH2MHILL/AECOM) to prepare supporting materials for the 2081 Incidental Take Permit Application for the 24.1 mile Merced to Fresno PP1 segment of the California High Speed Rail.

This work included designing and overseeing an evidence-based approach for refining the original impact analysis for several covered plant and wildlife species. A spatially explicit impact analysis was constructed using regional land cover data and species-specific habitat requirements to best inform the projects impacts for Swainson’s hawk and the California tiger salamander. The Regional Consultant team’s collaborative approach has provided CDFW with a strong framework to prepare a defensible ITP for the project.
