Neal Kramer

Senior Associate Botanist | Certified Arborist

Neal’s experience with plants and plant communities throughout the Western U.S., and internationally in Central and South America, spans more than 25 years.

His botanical experience includes numerous plant inventories and rare plant surveys, vegetation mapping and classification, invasive plant mapping and eradication, arborist services, wetland delineations, and mitigation and construction monitoring. His work has included deserts, mountains, serpentine sites, wetlands including vernal pools, and more. Neal has contributed to a variety of wildlife projects including burrowing owl, kit fox, blunt nose leopard lizard (Level II qualified) and general bird surveys. Neal has documented numerous desert tortoises in conjunction with other field work.

Neal has 20 years of management experience in the wholesale nursery industry where he was responsible for 130 full time employees and production operations for more than 35 acres of greenhouse and field nursery crops.

Neal is an experienced photographer with over 19,000 digital images posted on the CalPhotos website. His plant images have been used worldwide in numerous publications and websites for both public agencies and private organizations.
