James W. Jones, Jr., B.A.
Project Manager, Senior Biologist/Botanist

Mr. Jones is a botanist and wildlife biologist for the Live Oak Associates Bakersfield office. He has over 15 years of experience conducting botanical and wildlife surveys for impact assessments and evaluations under NEPA, CEQA, FESA, and CESA throughout much of California and portions of western Nevada. He has designed, managed, and implemented numerous such surveys and prepared many Environmental Assessments and Technical Reports in accordance with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and California Department of Fish and Game established protocols. Mr. Jones has special expertise in the flora and fauna of the southern San Joaquin Valley where he has spent many years in both private and public service conducting special-status species assessments and monitoring. Mr. Jones has extensive experience working with entities from the oil and gas industry in Kern County and he has served as the senior botanist and wildlife biologist at the Coles Levee Ecosystem Preserve for over 10 years. Additionally, Mr. Jones has served for the past three years as the senior biologist for the Kern Water Bank Authority where he has designed and implemented a variety of biological surveys and monitoring efforts under the Kern Water Bank Conservation Area Habitat Conservation Plan/Natural Communities Conservation Plan.
